Believe it or not, the royal wedding really is only one week away, and guests are already starting to hop across the pond—including Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland. Royal reporter Omid Scobie reports for Good Morning America that Ragland has already arrived in England to be by Markle’s side for last-minute wedding prep (and U.S. Mother’s Day this Sunday; the British celebrated theirs on March 11). She’ll also be meeting Markle’s future in-laws, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.

“Doria will be meeting Harry and Meghan’s nearest and dearest while she’s here, including close friend Jessica Mulroney, who arrives on Monday,” Scobie told the outlet. “It’s no doubt a stressful and very busy time for Meghan so having her mother by her side, especially on Mother’s Day, will no doubt alleviate some of those nerves.”
Ragland is reportedly staying with Markle and Prince Harry at Kensington Palace. “This trip sees Doria thrust into the middle of the royal circle,” Scobie explained. “She’s staying at Kensington Palace with Harry and Meghan and so she has them to help guide her along the way, teach her protocol and, of course, perfect her curtsy.”
Markle’s father Thomas is also heading over and will join Ragland and Markle for a private wedding rehearsal at Windsor Castle next week.
On the day of the wedding, Kensington Palace announced, Ragland will accompany Markle from where she’s staying the night before the wedding to Windsor Castle. The public’s first glimpse at Markle’s wedding gown will be when the two leave together for the wedding venue. Markle’s dad will walk her down the aisle.
